Verschijning van Lutra

Manuscripten voor Lutra worden doorgaans niet gelijkmatig over het jaar aangeboden. In sommige jaren komt kopij vooral in het voorjaar bij de redactie binnen, maar het gebeurt ook dat manuscripten juist vooral in de zomer en in het najaar worden aangeboden. Hierdoor, en doordat er soms minder artikelen wordt ingediend, is het de laatste jaren voor de redactie lastig gebleken om twee nummers op tijd, in juni en december, te laten verschijnen. Enkele keren hebben we al moeten besluiten om te volstaan met een enkel nummer van grotere omvang dat in december verscheen.

Voor abonnees leidt deze onregelmatige verschijning van Lutra tot onzekerheid en vragen, en ook voor auteurs is het prettig om te weten wanneer hun artikel wordt gepubliceerd. Daarom willen we in het vervolg beter communiceren over de te verwachte verschijningsdatum van Lutra. Een bericht hierover vindt u jaarlijks vanaf het voorjaar op de website. Daarnaast ontvangen alle abonnees hetzelfde bericht per e-mail.

In 2025 kiest de redactie ervoor één extra dikke Lutra te laten verschijnen, in december. De eerste artikelen hiervoor zijn al zo goed als klaar.

Publication schedule of Lutra

Manuscript submissions to Lutra are typically not evenly distributed throughout the year. In some years, the majority of submissions are received in the spring, while in other years, submissions predominantly arrive during the summer and autumn. As a result, and due to occasional periods of lower submission volume, the editorial board has, in recent years, encountered challenges in consistently publishing two issues per year—traditionally scheduled for June and December.

On several occasions, it has been necessary to consolidate content into a single, expanded issue, published in December. This irregular publication pattern can understandably lead to uncertainty among subscribers and is also less desirable for authors, who benefit from clarity regarding the timeline for the publication of their work.

To address this, the editorial board is committed to providing more transparent and timely communication regarding the anticipated publication schedule of Lutra. An annual update will henceforth be published on the journal's website each spring. In addition, all subscribers will receive this information directly via e-mail.

For 2025, the editorial board has resolved to publish a single, expanded issue of Lutra, scheduled for publication in December. The first articles for this issue are already in an advanced stage of preparation.
